Private group travel versus a coach tour
A coach tour is built around the group's average. A private group trip is built around your group specifically, your start date, your pace, your interests, and the fact that four of you want the museum and three of you want the market. That is the whole difference.
It also changes the daily texture. No 6am wake-up call because forty people need to be somewhere by nine. No shopping stops nobody asked for. No waiting in a car park for the last two people. With your own guide and driver you can leave when you are ready, change the afternoon over lunch, and eat where you like rather than where a group booking fits.
What group size works best
Six to twelve travellers is the range where private group travel works best. Below six, the per-person cost of a private guide and vehicle starts to feel high. Above about twelve you lose the flexibility that made you choose private travel in the first place, and restaurants and smaller sites get harder to manage.
Larger groups are certainly possible, but they need to be planned earlier and structured differently, usually with the group splitting for parts of each day. If your group sits somewhere between two families and a full reunion, tell us the numbers early, it changes what we recommend more than the destination does.

If your group has a shared interest, say so early. It is usually the thing that turns a good itinerary into one people talk about afterwards.
How costs work for a private group
Private group costs work differently to a per-person tour price. The fixed elements, guide, driver, vehicle, are shared across the group, so the per-person cost falls as the group grows, while accommodation and entry fees stay per person. This is why an accurate headcount early matters more than an early deposit.
We quote each group individually rather than publishing a per-person rate, and we will give you an honest indicative range in our first conversation so you can take it back to the group before anyone commits. International flights are quoted separately unless you ask us to arrange them.
